(April 12, 2008NEW YORK, NY) The Black Crowes have announced a North American concert tour that will kick off on June 28th and conclude with a five night run at the Fillmore in San Francisco on Chris Robinson’s birthday, December 20th.

The 90 city tour follows the success of their seven special “One Night Only” shows which featured their hit album “Warpaint,” performed in its entirety. All the shows sold-out instantly across America and were followed by a brief international trek including sold-out shows in London at the Brixton Academy and in Amsterdam at The Music Hall earlier this week. The six month itinerary will take them across the United States and Canada performing songs from “Warpaint,” the band’s first album of all new studio material in seven years, favorites from their extensive catalog as well as some surprise covers.

One highlight of the tour will be two very special evenings featuring all acoustic performances by The Black Crowes at the famed Town Hall in New York City on November 3rd & 4th.  These performances will mark the first ever all acoustic performances in America throughout their eighteen year career.

Tickets for the majority of the shows on the first leg of their three leg tour (and other select shows) will go on sale May 2nd & 3rd at 10 AM EST.  (Go to www.blackcrowes.com “Tour Page” for details)

Special “Midnight Pre-Sales” will be available at BLACKCROWES.COM.  A limited number of prime seats in each venue have been set aside by the band for their fans and will go on sale at MIDNIGHT EST, (the Friday) one week before the public on-sales.  Fans who purchase “Midnight Pre-Sale” tickets will receive FREE DOWNLOADS of previously unreleased live material.  (Go to www.blackcrowes.com “Tour Page” for details)

Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes had this to say of their 2008 tour announcement, "Set your mind to fly…Come Join the Jubilee"

Throughout the three legs of the North American tour, The Black Crowes shall be performing select shows as “An Evening With,” as well as performances featuring an array of special guests.

The Black Crowes exploded onto the music scene in 1990 with their multi-platinum debut album, “Shake Your Money Maker.” Their “Euphoria or Bust” Tour follows the release of the band’s new album, “Warpaint” which debuted earlier this year at #5 on the Billboard Top 200, #1 on Billboard’s Digital chart, #2 on the Independent Album chart, as well as the #2 album on iTunes.

Recent shows in New Jersey, New York, Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Australia, New Zealand, London and Amsterdam have received rave reviews.

Rich Nieciecki from VARIETY wrote about the band’s LA show; “‘Oh Josephine’ and ‘Locust Street,’ two exquisitely wrought ballads, featured Chris and brother Rich harmonizing at their finest and rank among their best – though largely underappreciated – work.”

Jonathan Perry who reviewed their appearance in Boston for THE BOSTON GLOBE, wrote that “the Crowes were in full flight: a humming phalanx of guitars, bass, drums, and keys, flexing and stretching together as one muscle, one throbbing groove.”

The new album, “Warpaint,” has also received critical acclaim.

David Fricke wrote in a recent ROLLING STONE feature on The Black Crowes, “(Warpaint) Eleven tracks of brawny Southern rock and psychedelic R&B ecstasy…” and Alan Light from ROLLING STONE reviewed, "...some of the best range and craft of the band's career."

Gary Graff wrote in BILLBOARD that “the group [is] fortified by sharp songwriting and lace-tight, live-sounding performances…the 11-song set establishes the group’s return as something to crow about.”

MOJO reviewed the album saying, “Warpaint’s essence is simple, blues-based rock’n’roll, echoing the Crowes’ finest albums.... It is the sound of a band with dirt under its fingernails.”

THE SUN wrote “it’s good to see a classic band donning their Warpaint once more”

Upon returning to the United States later this month, the band will stop in New York for an appearance on the “Late Show with David Letterman” on April 25th.

Additional dates will be added in the near future.
